Beauty For Ref

Project for women and girls in refugee camps in Greece

Beauty For Ref, Act For Ref's project in partnership with Yoga Impact, aims to provide beauty and hygiene products to women and girls in refugee camps in Greece. The latter, pending administrative decisions concerning their asylum applications or transfer to the country of their choice, have very difficult living conditions and do not have easy access to the points of supply of basic necessities such as those used daily by women.

This project, in partnership with Lydia Mullaney of Yoga Impact (yoga classes, part of the profits of which is redistributed to associations) raises the funds needed to purchase the products (face cream, shampoo, shower gel, sanitary napkins ... ) so that they are distributed to women and girls in the camps. By participating in yoga classes, you allow them to improve their daily lives and help them regain some dignity and femininity, so difficult to keep in hostile environments that are these terrible camps where they are stranded.

500 euros were raised and donated in 2017 to the Women's Center in the Skaramanga camp in Greece

The Women's Center of Skaramanga offered a privileged place of relaxation and beauty care to the women of the camp. They could have a shampoo, get their hair cut and comb while chatting with the volunteers. The center has since been moved to another refugee camp where more volunteers can manage this space dedicated to women.
